About the Project
KMET is implementing an Integrated Adolescents Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH) Services Program that aims at increasing access to Quality Sexual and reproductive health services and information targeting Adolescents and young women in Kisumu, Homabay, Busia, Bungoma, Marsabit, Trans-Nzoia and Migori Counties. The program is expected to ensure that adolescents and young women are able to access comprehensive SRH information and quality services to improve their sexual and reproductive health, particularly the young and marginalized.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Officer will have the responsibility of ensuring effective implementation and linkage between service delivery and demand generation while ensuring quality of care in activities implementation that meets project deliverables. The Officer will be based in Bungoma to provide day-to-day guidance and technical assistance in implementing and monitoring project activities in the assigned counties of Bungoma and TransNzoia. Lead in integrating content and participation in relevant stakeholders’ engagements in the program and ensure that appropriate documentation is carried out. The position works with the other pathway team leads, as well as with a range of external partners and stakeholders.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Health systems:
• Monitor continued service provision of Reproductive Health services as supported at various assigned pharmacies and health facilities and documenting the same.
• Liaise with the other Team leads on technical issues arising from Pharmacies, health facilities and community for follow-up and monitoring.
• Link providers and clinical mentors/ program support team members as need arise to ensure Quality Assurance.
• Supporting implementation of quality-of-care checks and making efforts to address emerging issues.
• Monitor availability of commodities and in-liaison with technical advisors and commodity focal persons for support to resolve gaps.
2. Community Access support:
• Liaise with the technical advisors on technical issues arising from communities and health facilities for follow-up, action and monitoring of their implementation.
• Provide linkage between demand generation and service delivery in liaison with community advisors.
3. Project monitoring:
• Collection of service provision data from Pharmacies and transmission of the same using the appropriate reporting tools and systems.
• Submission of monthly reports and calendar of activities to supervisors.
• Identification of success stories within the pharmacies and health facilities and liaising with the relevant technical focal persons for documentation
4. Administrative:
• Facilitate and represent KMET in county level engagements with respective multisectoral stakeholders.
• Coordinate preparation of Project meetings and training with Pharmacies and Health facilities at the County level.
• Accurate reporting of work assignments on a monthly, Quarterly and Annual basis and on DMIS platforms for Quality-of-Care.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
• Degree/Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Pharm-tech, Reproductive Health Or any other medical related field.
• At least 4 years of relevant work experience in Healthcare Workers capacity strengthening, community mobilization, and training community groups for uptake of ASRH services.
• Experience in working in adolescent reproductive health programs especially with a focus on ASRHR.
• Experience in improving clinical quality through supportive supervision.
• Excellent event planning/ coordination and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate in local dialect and ready to reside in project implementation site.
• Ability to travel by road frequently (with a valid driving license).
